Sociology (9699)

Sociology was my absolute favorite subject, and the one that I only decided to pick about 3 months before the exams. While it is quite content heavy, if you find it interesting you will enjoy studying it to the point it doesn't feel like work.

Due to the fact I only had 3 months to learn and then revise the content, I had to work very smart and fast. The book was far too long and had too much unneeded info, so while learning the content I relied mainly on the online sites I have listed in sites + sources. Alongside this, I would read the recaps of each section/chapter in the book to ensure I wasn't off track. When revising, I made use of the Cambridge learner guide to ensure I covered the required topics.  I think the biggest thing that helped solidify the knowledge was going through past paper questions, which I answered based on the mark-schemes provided.

It is also very important to know how to structure your answers to each questions in the exam to ensure you make the best use of your time. I will explain in the Tips + Advice section how I recommend you answer the questions, as in how many points to make and so on, alongside how I planned my essays during the exam before I started writing to ensure they were well written and comprehensive.
